Liturgical Ministries

Music Ministry

This ministry within our parish community strives to enhance the worship experience through sung prayer. Our parish choir serves as the music minsters at the 4:00pm, 8:30am, & 10:30am Masses each weekend (split into groups) and at all special liturgies throughout the church year. All members are volunteers, however they are required to attend the weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm and liturgies on a regular basis. Men and women of high school age and older are welcome to join this ministry.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

These extraordinary ministers have the privilege of giving Jesus Christ to His people.  Parishioners who serve in this ministry truly believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Those who are called to this ministry must, above all, know how to be truly present to others in the moment they distribute. They are brothers and sisters in this very Body and Blood they are sharing and, not only speak their own faith in saying "The Body of Christ", they call forth the faith of the one receiving.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may also take the Eucharist to those who are homebound, in nursing homes or hospitals, or in jail.

Lectors

Lectors are those who have the privilege of proclaiming the Word of God during liturgical celebrations. Those involved should have an appreciation for reading Sacred Scripture and an aptitude for public proclamation of text. Most often, these volunteers develop a deeper love and understanding of scripture.

Altar Attendants

The service of an Altar Attendant is what makes the liturgy run smoothly. In this important role, these individuals assist the priest throughout the liturgy. This ministry is open to all males and females in the parish beginning in the fourth grade. In addition to the weekend Masses, our Altar Attendants also serve at funerals and other special liturgies throughout the year.
